I'm "Really Pissed Off" Method
There are a multitude of acts of net.terrorism that one can engage in.
Unfortunately, many of these are not only illegal, but may also end up
aggravating a number of people other than the intended. While I
often fantasize about carrying out a number of these acts, I do not
advocate actually doing it. If you want to learn more about some of
these things, you can probably find information on alt.hackers or
in some of the hacker journals floating around the net.
Some things that angry people have been known to do include:
- Calling the 1-800 numbers included in the spam mail many times as this is
billed to the company.
- Sending their 1-800 fax's many requests
- Requesting information from their mail response servers from the forged
address of some other spam mailers auto-mail response server
- Denial of service attacks i.e. the "SYN" attack allows a user with a 28.8
modem to easily shut down service of multiple T1 web sites simultaneously. This
is documented in PHRACK and a number of CERT advisories (i.e. CERT(sm) Advisory CA-96.21
).
