Case Notes
After complaining to the system administrators at america.com I was informed of
the following by Michael Masterson (the technical contact at enterprise.america.com):
we (america.com) maintain no mailing lists, one of our users spammed
the net and had his account terminated last sunday as a result,
perhaps this is what you're talking about?
I also received the following from the administrators of Sundial.net
Thank you for your recent mail concerning unsolicited commercial email
from 1stlook@whereever.com. If you take a closer look at the email
headers you will notice that this mail did NOT originate from sundial.net.
We do not permit unsolicited email by our users, and we never have.
Our only involvement with 1stlook was that we sold them space on our web
server, before we realized that these pages were to be referenced in
unsolicited email. Once we realized exactly what was happening, we
notified 1stlook that we will not be providing web page hosting for them
in the future, and their pages will be removed in the next few days. This
will terminate the ONLY service that we ever provided to them. 1stlook
will not have a web page account, email account, PPP account, or any other
account once the period of "reasonable notice" expires.
Sundial does not collect mailing lists, sell mailing lists, or have any
other involvement with the unsolicited emailers, and as stated earlier, it
has always been strictly prohibited.
Obviously, we can do nothing about any future email from 1stlook, since it
has ALWAYS been sent from another provider.
